An alert cop prevented an untoward incident after he managed to prevent two passengers- who slipped while boarding a moving train- from going under its wheels in western India's Maharashtra.

The incident took place at the Nalla Sopara Railway Station, on the Western line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network, on June 5.

Visuals showed a sea of people trying to board the train, when it started to move.

Unable to keep their balance, two people fell down. Among the two was an elderly man.

Fortunately, Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable Sanjay Kumar, who was present at platform number one, reacted swiftly, pulling them to safety.

Despite repeated warnings from law enforcement, passengers try to either board or alight moving trains, putting their lives at grave risks.
