Local residents jokingly call it Burj Khalifa, even the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The bizarre house does not have 163 floors like its reference point in Dubai nor does it lean like the historic building.

But the five-storey slender building at Muzaffarpur in eastern India has become a huge local attraction.

It soars, like a minaret, 50-feet in height but is built on a mere 6 feet wide plot. It has five floors where each house is five feet wide and extends to 11 feet in length.

Each flat comes fitted with a toilet, a kitchen and a tiny bedroom. One of the flats even functions as a computer training centre and can reportedly house 20 students at a time.

Local residents Santosh and Archana bought this six feet wide and 20 feet long plot when they got married. Realising they had made a hasty decision in buying the odd-shaped plot they tried to sell it.

When they found no takers, they hired an engineer to design the structure and finally built it in 2015. Since then people have been visiting the building to take selfies.

Santosh says: “The building is safe and meets all legal norms. Though a couple can live here, it is ideal for bachelors.”
