Footage of the moment a helicopter crashed while hovering low outside a pub in the town of Abbeyshrule, County Longford, Republic of Ireland on Wednesday night.

The bizarre accident caused no serious injuries, though some inside the pub were reportedly treated for shock while the two on board the aircraft suffered minor injuries. The pilot was later arrested before being released.

The video shows the moment the rotor clipped the side of the Rustic Inn pub on the banks of the Royal Canal - causing a tailspin and sending it smashing into the back of the building. It's unknown whether the aircraft was attempting to land or the reason for its low flying.

Local witness Ciaran Doyle told RTÉ’s Morning Ireland: "The minute I saw it, my hands started to shake, and I picked up the phone and called the emergency services."

The filmer of the video wishes to remain anonymous.
