Two women have lucky escape after crashing car through the side of a pub
Two women had a miracle escape after suffering just minor injuries when their car lost control and ploughed through the side of a PUB. Emergency services were called after the red Fiat 500 smashed through a wall and window of Shannon's, in Bordesley Green, Birmingham. Shocking pictures show the badly-damaged vehicle firmly embedded in the boozer following the dramatic crash at around 1am today (Tue). West Midlands Fire Service said the car had hit a lamppost before careering into the red-brick pub, which was closed at the time. The two female occupants of the Fiat were left "bloodied" but luckily suffered only minor injuries. Sharing photos of the carnage on social media, West Midlands Fire Service said the collision could have easily resulted in tragedy. Highgate Fire Station wrote: "We often attend incidents where a slight change in circumstances such as direction or time, could’ve resulted in tragedy. "This RTC in Bordesley Green today was one of those. Luckily, the pub was closed and the 2 women from the car suffered only minor injuries." Fire bosses said there was no damage to the pub's structural integrity, the building was made safe and the incident was left in the hands of the police just after 2am.
