This is the adorable moment a dog at a US rescue shelter burst with joy after learning she was about to be adopted.

The heartwarming footage, which was filmed in Wooster, Ohio on April 1, shows shelter worker Joe Kay approaching "Clementine's" cage holding a sign reading "Adopted. Please hold".

"Is this for you?" Kay asks as the excited dog begins to leap around her cage.

"You're on hold! You got yourself a forever family!" Kay tells "Clementine" as she turns circles in excitement.

Shared by and featuring Joe Kay, this heartwarming footage shows him breaking the news to a pup about her adoption, getting her extremely excited in the process. This was filmed in the dog shelter Joe works at.

"Here's me giving Clementine her 'Adopted! Please Hold' sign," the filmer said. "She's about to be adopted."

The way the pup reacts like a kid who just got his favorite toy as a Christmas gift, is beyond adorable. Here's hoping that she finds a true home with her new family.
