A woman who felt so self-conscious about her huge breasts that she would avoid going out with friends and socialising has now undergone a "life-changing" reduction – going down three cup sizes.

Amanda Barriskell, 23, from Glasgow, Scotland, made the decision to have the surgery after years of suffering from horrific pain and backaches.

Her 34G cup breasts were so heavy that the self-employed hairdresser sometimes struggled to do her job as she would often find herself hunching over.

Amanda would also avoid going out and socialising with friends as she struggled to find clothes that fit and when she did, would constantly receive comments about her breasts.

"My body was so out of proportion that it made me anxious about going out to socialise because I would have a meltdown about what to wear," Amanda told NeedToKnow.online.

"I didn't feel comfortable wearing certain items of clothing, as I always felt like I was revealing too much of myself.

"If I wore anything too baggy, it made me look like the size of a house.

"My b**bs were so heavy that I found myself hunching over a lot to ease the pain.

"My job had a massive part in this too, as I was leaning over and stretching up, which put strain on one side of my back when using the hairdryer.

"[However], the biggest factor in my decision for my breast reduction was my backache.

"No matter how many massages or workouts I had done, nothing helped.

"I was known for always having a big chest and I hated them so much, but nobody understood."

Unaware of her struggles, Amanda says people would often tell her they wished they had her chest or cup size.

All the while, she was desperate to shrink them down or hide them.

In March 2022, after several appointments with medical professionals, she booked herself in for the £6,000 breast reduction surgery at Nuffield Health Hospital.

Amanda paid for the operation herself with help from her mum, dad, Stuart, and grandmother Mattie.

She went from being a 34G to 34DD and has never been happier, but the recovery process was still tough as she had to rely on others for help with basic tasks.

Amanda said: "It's not the pain [that is difficult], it's more having to have someone to help you do the most simplest of things – like showering, making food, changing your bedding.

"Luckily I had help from my mum, Karen, who I honestly couldn’t have done this without.

"She's been an absolute star in helping me with my recovery.

"Although I’ve been down about certain things, like not being able to go to the gym like I used to or being ‘normal’.

"I realise these things take time and time is a healer."

Amanda has now returned to work and is now back in the gym, focusing on her love of fitness.

She added: "I’m back to work now and taking it easy in the gym, but I’m super confident about my new b**bs – I feel amazing.

"I absolutely love them although they are not fully healed [yet], but I’m definitely healing really well.

"It’s been a little bit of a blur for me as it all happened so fast and looking back on a few weeks ago, I’m in such a better head space than I was before surgery.

"I can now wear clothes I wasn’t able to before and feel more confident in doing so.

"Even though I’m still in recovery, my confidence has shot up and I’m feeling so much better within myself.

"My friends and boyfriend Dan have been a massive part in picking up my self-esteem too.

"I was feeling very low halfway through recovery and to know they had my back 24/7 was really uplifting.

"I’m so grateful to have such a great support system because you most certainly need one for an operation like this."

Amanda recently shared her before and after transformation on TikTok, where she has received 13,700 views and thousands of likes.

In the clip, she reveals videos of her before the operation from different angles.

Shortly after, the footage cuts to show her now as the hairdresser sports a huge smile while revealing her new breasts in a bra.

Amanda captioned the clip: "The reveal, three cup sizes and two kilograms down, best decision I’ve ever made!"

One viewer commented: "You look so happy Amanda! Chuffed for you."

Another person said: "Are you happy with the results? I’m thinking of getting it done myself just not 100% where to go," to which Amanda replied: "Yes definitely! Literally perfect. My surgeon done an amazing job!"

Someone else commented: "Amazing, what a difference wee doll."

Another viewer said: "I’ve wanted this done for years as it makes you look so much slimmer too! So jealous, amazing!"

"Ughhhhh the dream, do u recommend? I've wanted this for years!," said another viewer. [sic]
