Motorcycle rider arrested for lying back on seat with no hands in Thailand
A reckless motorcycle rider was arrested for lying back on the seat with no hands while speeding along a motorway Thailand.
The reckless motorist Chad Wattana, 49, pulled the dangerous stunt as he was speeding along the road in Nakhon Sawan province on June 6.
Footage from a shocked passing driver shows the motorcyclist letting go of the bike's handlebars before pressing his hands together and bending to lie down on the pillion seat.
Officers later arrested the rider and seized his motorcycle for inspection.
Police Colonel Kosit Kanchanakomol, director of the Phayuha Khiri Police Station, said he immediately recognised Chad since he was reportedly a repeat offender who has been arrested several times for not wearing a helmet.
Police Colonel Kosit Kanchanakomol said: 'The suspect admitting riding dangerously and he has been fined. He has been warned not to do this again as it is dangerous for himself and other people.'
Chad said he did not know that doing the stunt was illegal, adding he only did it to to show off his new skills after practicing in his village.
He has reportedly already paid the 900 THB (20.80GBP) fine and has promised not to endanger other road users in the future.
