Hundreds of suitcases were left unattended at Heathrow Airport as travel chaos continued across the UK on June 7.

Footage filmed by Mark Kieran shows unattended passengers' bags that were removed from the baggage reclaim conveyor belts.

Kieran was travelling back from Bergen, Norway, after a family holiday and told Newsflare: "Chaos at Heathrow Airport as hundreds of passengers' bags removed from carousels were left unattended.

"Bags could have been stolen by anyone in the baggage claim area.

"We experienced no delays whatsoever, in fact, our bags were the first ones off our flight."

The airport's CEO John Holland-Kaye stated that it would take the aviation sector between 12 and 18 months to recover after thousands of jobs were cut during the pandemic.
