A German tourist visiting his long-distance Thai girlfriend was shocked to find her missing - along with his prized Ducati motorcycle.

Mathias Falk Arndt, 41, flew to notorious 'Sin City' Pattaya in eastern Thailand on May 30 to surprise his lover of two years named Fah. He had been away for a couple of years due to Covid-19 but had continued to support her.

However, the foreigner's excitement was quickly doused when he arrived at their shared condominium, where a surprising sight greeted him. Their room was in disarray, littered with used condoms, lubricant, and a broken safe with two golden rings missing.

Both his girlfriend and his beloved Ducati motorbike were also nowhere to be found.

Panicked, Mathias rushed to the police station to report his lost possessions. Officers also helped him contact Fah, who claimed she was in Kalasin province in the northeast, while her 'brother' was keeping the Ducati in Chanthaburi province.

She reportedly promised to return the motorcycle but Mathias said she was still awol.

Mathias said he had met Fah online, and had lived with her in Pattaya pre-pandemic. He added he would visit her in Thailand every three months, but Covid-19 restrictions had disrupted his schedule.

The German is now offering a 10,000 THB reward (around 232.50 GBP) for his missing bike. He will also be pressing charges against his girlfriend.

He said: 'I never suspected anything was amiss. We spoke on the phone regularly and she said she loved me.

'My priority now is to get my motorcycle back and other belongings that have gone missing.'
