A pickup truck struggled to drive across a rough dirt road which was drenched by heavy rain in Thailand.

Footage shows the vehicle carrying tourists to Huay Kub Kab Village in Chiang Mai province on May 20. It staggered over pits and bumps on the muddy path, which became uneven after being battered by monsoon downpours.

Despite the difficulties, the tourists reportedly reached their destination safely.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November.

Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
