A pair of bungling armed burglars left their stolen loot behind after their getaway car crashed at an intersection in Myanmar.

The two alleged robbers broke into the home of a Chinese family in Shan state's Muse township on May 16 at around 7 pm local time. Brandishing their guns, they ushered the terrified occupants out of the house before ransacking the property for valuables.

They reportedly took some cash, gadgets, and jewelry before hopping into their car and fleeing the scene.

However, their plans hit a snag when they crashed into another vehicle in their haste to escape. The collision left the car out of commission, forcing them to sprint on foot to avoid capture.

The stolen items have been returned to the family, but the suspected thieves are still at large.

The incident comes after a separate robbery in the same town on May 10, where four armed burglars broke into a phone shop and made off with more than 100,000 kyats. Three of the four robbers have reportedly been arrested.
