The Disaster Management Department rescued a cow that fell in a 40-feet well in central India's Chhattisgarh.

The incident took place in Lakhanpur under the Katghora police station area of Korba district on June 10.

Visuals showed a man getting inside the well with the help of a ladder. First, a strap was tied on the cow's waist, after which it was brought up slowly with the help of a crane.

According to reports, a cow fell down due to a weak tin shed being put over an unused well. Upon receiving information from the villagers, the Disaster Management Department made necessary efforts and with four hours of hard work, the cow was taken out safely.

While passing through the well the cow fell down. The locals informed the authorities, and the District Disaster Management Officer PB Sidar was given the work. The rescue team was dispatched and after receiving the information, a rescue operation was carried out here.

Disaster Management in-charge PB Sidar said that the well in question was very deep and in such a situation it was very challenging to get the cow out. Appeals have been made to the people to either barricade the unused wells or fill them up completely.
