This is the heartstopping moment an overloaded grain truck toppled over - narrowly missing a policeman.

The large vehicle was making a turn at the Jalan Nagreg highway in Bandung Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia on June 6, but fell over while swerving because of the weight of its load.

It narrowly missed a traffic officer then collided with a Toyota Rush, dragging it across the road and spilling grain all over the asphalt as the tarpaulin protecting its cargo unraveled.

Ipda Tatang Saprudin, head of the Nagreg Police Traffic Unit, said: 'Police officers were helping the Toyota Rush car driver who had taken the wrong lane. Suddenly, the truck came and an accident occurred.

'The officer is still in shock. He said he was just walking backwards after helping the driver when the car suddenly disappeared in front of him.'

He added that there were no reported casualties, but the truck and the SUV were badly damaged. Both vehicles have been taken to the Nagreg Police Headquarters.

Authorities said the spilled rice has also been cleaned up, and traffic on the road has resumed as normal.

Both parties have decided to settle the matter amicably, police said.
