Dramatic moment Russian troops fire on journalists in Luhansk
Dramatic GoPro footage shows the moment a group of journalists was attacked and injured by Russian shelling as they covered the conflict in Luhansk late last month.
The remarkable footage was captured by Alex Chan Tsz Yuk who was wearing the camera on his helmet.
According to Chan Tsz Yuk, who is normally based in Hong Kong, he and his colleagues were planning to head into Severodonetsk on May 28 via a bridge in Lysychansk.
They decided to turn back when they saw some burning vehicles and backed away from the bridge and surrounding areas with Russian troops visible at least 500-600 meters away.
The group, which included Ukrainian filmmaker Mykola, were talking to some Ukrainian soldiers when the first shells exploded beside them.
Mykola's right arm was hit by shrapnel and a second blast damaged Chan Tsz Yuk hearing.
As they took cover in a ditch other shells exploded nearby.
They attended to Mykola's arm, stemming the bleeding with a tourniquet and fled the scene with help from Ukrainian soldiers.
Mykola was injured on his right upper shoulder and is now recovering in Kyiv ahead of surgery.
