Russian bomber plane carries out training exercise
This footage shows a Russian bomber taking off and later coming back in to land in a show of military might.
Footage was released by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation on June 8.
The Russian military said (in Russian): "In Irkutsk Oblast, on the basis of the aviation regiment of long-range aviation, a tactical flight exercise began with the crews of Tu-22M3 long-range bombers.
"During the event, the pilots will work out the tasks of relocating to operational airfields, preparing and performing flights for combat use, and other tasks as intended.
"The exercise is carried out according to the combat training plan and will last until the end of the week."
Irkutsk Oblast is a federal subject of Russia located in southeastern Siberia.
The Tupolev Tu-22M is a Russian variable-wing supersonic jet bomber first flown in 1969. It was designed for potential use in war against the NATO countries.
