The moment a cyclist survived a sudden leopard attack was caught on camera by CCTV in Assam, northern India.

Footage recorded on January 19, shows the cyclist on a road near Kaziranga National Park. A leopard suddenly emerges from the wooded area next to the road and unleashes an attack on the rider.

The cyclist is knocked to the ground by the animal but luckily the leopard runs off as a car approaches.

After picking himself up, the biker hops back onto his back and begins heading the opposite way where he is checked up upon by two cyclists who witnessed the attack.

Ramesh Kumar Gogoi, who works at Kaziranga National Park, has urged commuters not to stop in the area for their own safety.

He has also told cyclists and two-wheelers to be especially careful as wild animals often roam nearby the road.
