A police officer stopped a bus rolling down a road after the driver forgot to pull the hand break in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the Li County in Hunan Province on June 8 shows a bus with passengers on it moving down a road and a woman running to ask for help from nearby police officers.

Three police officers then chased the bus. One of the police officers can be seen jumping onto the bus to stop it and the other two directed traffic.

According to the bus driver Chen, he was in a rush to go to the toilet due to a stomach problem and forgot to pull the hand brake.

In order to express gratitude, the person who was in charge of Li County Tongda Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. gave a banner with "the people's safety guardian" written in Chinese characters on it to the police station.

The brave police officer's name was not revealed.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
