A motorist attempted to stop a car from driving the wrong way down a busy highway near Manchester, UK, on June 14.

Dashcam footage picks up the driver honking their horn as they approach the car moving in the wrong direction on the M61 near Westhoughton.

The owner of the dashcam told Newsflare: "I was travelling along the M61 when a car came on at J4 the wrong way down the motorway, I attempted to stop it by flashing my lights and sounding my horn."

Another angle shows the car passing the filmer before making a turn into traffic on the motorway.

"The car then turns around goes the other way and leaves again at J4 where police are waiting," the filmer added.
