We could hear the concert from our house but couldn't quite make out what the songs were. We needed to eat so we went to Mcdonalds at the airport. Just as we left the restaurant I got to the roundabout to turn right through and in the corner of my eye I noticed a white jet and immediately thought that must be Sir Elton's private jet because I saw the plane's picture on the news that afternoon. It had landed and someone spotted him briefly leaving for the stadium. We went to look and someone there said the power was back on so he probably won't be too long. We had to go home to eat our food but I listened to see if I could hear the concert still and I could. After we ate, I went outside again and could hear Goodbye Yellow Brick Road the only song of the night I could make out. Once it had finished I heard cheering and kept listening for more songs. We waited no longer than 5 minutes to be sure was the last. That was our queue to take the 10 minute journey to the airport. We got parked, got out and immediately spotted a police car speeding with its blue lights on and a black car following closely behind and I said to my partner knowing that this could be brief "Run quickly or we will miss him". We managed it just in time and was successful. It was indeed brief. We had an avid plane spotter near us and he updated us on what was happening with Elton's private jet letting us know the stages of preparation for take off. The door closes slowly revealing the E for Elton symbol. Once they got through the pre-flight checks the plane begins to taxi and passes us very closely. Unfortunately, no sign of Sir Elton through the windows. It then turns round for take-off, a few seconds later with a rolling start, the jets fire and they get airborne. That's where the edited video ends. I continue to record as the plane is just a flashing light turning back past us in the distance. The plane enthusiast said it was bound for Luton airport which would probably take just a few minutes to get there. There wasn't many people there but there were some waving to the plane as it begins to taxi. It was a buzz to be there even if seeing Elton was brief. The whole thing lasted about 20 minutes or so. What was amazing was that Sir Elton had just played to 25,000 people like 15 or 20 minutes before and he was already preparing to leave for what I can only presume was home. I should imagine even before a lot of people left the stadium!
