Protests have taken place in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo over the murders of British journalist Dom Phillips and indigenous expert Bruno Pereira, who went missing in the Amazon rainforest on 5 June.

The video shows children with posters, some indigenous and people with clothes representing forest animals joining the protest for justice.

I came here today to participate in the Act for Justice for Bruno and Dom Phillips, because this genocidal policy, this attack on indigenous peoples who defend forests, is unacceptable, the forest is fundamental for the existence of life, for our future and present. And the government, instead of defending the indigenous peoples and demarcating the indigenous territories, has attacked the life of the indigenous people and the defenders of the indigenous people. The government that should protect indigenous peoples is increasingly attacking because of economic interests, in gold and wood in soy plantations. So what we see more is indigenous land rights, indigenous peoples being attacked. So it is very important that we stand on the side of the indigenous peoples, because this fight is also ours, this fight is for the future of all of us. So justice for Dom and justice for Bruno Pereira and understanding more is urgent we are living a climate emergency and indigenous peoples are responsible for defending nature.
