This is the moment a lucky man in India managed to avoid death by a whisker as the road he was walking across caved in due to floods.

The incident happened on the 16th of June in the Kuthrijhar area of Baksa district. According to the eyewitness Usman Goni, he noticed the small bridge was about to collapse due to a very heavy water flow.

He recalls: "We started shouting and alerting Ramjan Ali who was crossing the bridge . The bridge immediately collapsed the moment he crossed it."

The man's life was saved in a fraction of a second.
