Brave fishermen jump into river during storm to save drowning dog
This is the heartwarming moment two brave fishermen jumped into a river during a storm to save a drowning dog.
The trawlers were hoping to catch fish in the swollen river following a tropical downpour when they spotted the pooch being swept away by the water in Saraburi province, Thailand on June 14.
Without thinking twice, the two men swam into the water and battled against the powerful currents while they slowly pulled the dog to safety.
They checked the dog for injuries but it was unhurt and taken back with them to the village.
One of their friends Chainarong Ruengnak said: ‘We noticed a strange object in the water while baiting fish until we realised it was a dog.
‘We knew it would be risky but we felt bad for the dog so we helped it.'
Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November.
