Shrines in a town graveyard were knocked down by a strong magnitude 5.4 quake that hit Japan on Sunday.

Footage shows the stone graves toppled over after the earthquake struck Noto town in Ishikawa prefecture on June 19.

Japan's Meteorological Agency said it struck at a depth of 10 kilometres at 3 pm local time near Ishikawa prefecture's Noto region. Six people were reportedly injured.

This was followed by an aftershock with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 that hit central Japan on Monday at 10:31 am local time.

No injuries were reported from the most recent quake. There were also no tsunami warnings raised.
