Man removes swarm of bees from UK promenade

A video has emerged of a man carefully removing a swarm of bees from a promenade wall along the seafront in Hunstanton, UK.

The footage, captured on Monday evening, shows bee specialist David Warnes slowly collecting the swarm of 15,000 honeybees into a box.

"Mr Warnes used a smoker briefly to make the bees feel a little sick (as he explained to curious onlookers) this enabled him to collect the bees easily," the filmer later wrote online.

"He explained to me that the bees had been evicted from the main colony (local) as there was probably not enough room for all. Thus they were searching for a new home along with their Queen Bee.

"Mr Warnes has now relocated the bees to his home where he will look after them as he looks after the other bees he already has.

“A small crowd gathered to witness the no-nonsense (yet seemingly miraculous) collection of so many bees in seconds!!”
