This is the shocking moment a car crashed through a pharmacy in Thailand.

The female customer had just finished buying medicine when he tried to drive away from the store in Samut Prakan province on June 13.

Drug store owner Phornkanok Sianglum was counting the day's takings with her husband when the visitor's car suddenly ploughed through the glass entrance, jolting the pair who were closing up shop. They rushed out of the way as shelves of medicine toppled over from the crash.

Shaken Phornkanok, 42, said: 'The customers were women, and the driver was about 50. After they had purchased the medicine and left, I was starting to count the money to close for the day. Suddenly, there was a light shining into the store so at first, I thought it was a different customer coming to buy.

'But when I turned to see what was happening, I saw the car heading towards me, so I ran away. Fortunately, it was blocked by the counter so I was safe.'

Phornkanok added she tried to speak to the driver to ask about the cause of the accident, but the woman was in a daze and could not answer properly. She believes the driver had hit the accellerator while the car was in drive instead of the reverse position.

The case was reported to the Bangbo Police Station and the car owner called her insurance firm for compensation.

However, the store's entrance has still not been repaired, leaving the pharmacy exposed to intruders.

Phornkanok said: 'It might affect the medicine because some of the drugs are temperature-sensitive.'
