An ox, which was grazing on the edge of a 50-feet deep well, slipped and fell inside.

Raghavendra, a farmer at Channapatna village near Soraba town, called the fire bridge personnel immediately. A team of five rescuers led by officer K Mahabaleshwara went to the village.

They put leather straps around the animal and pulled it out safely.

Said: “The ox not only survived the fall but was also remarkably unhurt. It was able to get back on his feet after a few minutes.”
