A group of volunteers in Batu, Indonesia, are collecting discarded diapers and recycling them into pots and trash cans.

The volunteers remove the hydrogel from the diapers and are then used as fertilizer for ornamental plants.

They can also be used as flower pots and trash cans.

A survey by the local community said that each baby, aged 1 day to 4 years, produces an average of three to four discarded diapers per day.

The Batu city government added a guardrail with vertical garden decorations on every river bridge. To reduce the tendency of people to often throw baby diaper waste into the river.

Until now, the processing of baby diaper waste in the category of B3 waste in the government's TPA has only been burned and piled up.

The goal is that the community no longer throws baby diaper waste into the river and cares about the cleanliness of the surrounding environment. The process; used baby diapers are cleaned by removing hydrogel and used as fertilizer for ornamental plants.

The baby diapers can be printed with cement and colored. The survey results from a community "Loving the environment" each baby (aged 1 day to age 4 years) produces an average of 3-4 baby diaper waste per day.
