As the rail transport workers strike affects the commuter for most of this week: adcu (App drivers and couriers union) took action against Uber , with a picket and protest in Aldgate at the headquarter, Drivers have been provided no increase in the last year pay despite fuel inflation of 34% and consumer price inflation of 7.8%. The drivers complain they now face a cost of living crisis because in the past year they have had to soak up additional operating costs associated with fuel inflation of 34% and vehicle cost inflation of 28% without any adjustment in fares or pay. What little there is left to take home is worth 7.8% less than last year due to general inflation. Uber must obey Supreme Court and pay all working time including standby time

· Fares must increase from c. £1.06 per mile variable to £2.50 per mile fixed

· Uber must end unfair dismissals and make algorithmic management transparent

· ADCU demands the Mayor of London intervene to stop Met Police unlawful collusion with Uber to gather intelligence on the union and its activities

· OECD officially accepts complaint against for investigation into global operations of ride share giant including the UK

The App Drivers & Couriers Union (ADCU) – the union for private hire drivers and couriers – has called for a 24-hour national strike for Uber drivers from midnight tonight and lasting until 23:59 Wednesday June 22, 2022.
