Footage shows a flock of ducks running down from a truck before waddling into a paddy field.

Onlooker Masbee Thanwamas was surprised to see the water birds moving along the road while driving home in Nakhon Pathom, central Thailand, on February 12.

She said: 'I thought they were the cutest thing you could see while driving home. The ducks were running like they had a place to go to.'

Raising British breed Khaki Campbell ducks in rice-growing areas had been a tradition in many parts of rural Thailand. Locals called it ‘ped lai thoong' or ‘field chasing ducks.'

The ducklings are taken to fields after 20 days in the nursery where they would hunt and feed on rice pests such as snails and insects. This in turn reduces costs for the duck breeder.
