Thai police had to shut down an entertainment district in 'Sin City' Pattaya after two tourists attacked each other with knives.

Officers arrived to a bleeding foreigner sitting on the pavement in front of bars along the Walking Street area of the notorious city in Thailand on June 19.

A brawl reportedly happened in the area involving the injured man and another holidaymaker who allegedly slashed his arm with a knife.

Cops gave the bleeding tourist first aid treatment as he refused to be taken to a hospital and file a police report while the bars were asked to close down as it was already past the allowed operating hours.

Police Lieutenant colonel Samran Sukto said: ‘We will review the CCTV footage from nearby bars and identify the other tourist. Even if he does not want an investigation, we will still look into it.'

After his wounds were cleaned and bandaged, the tourist hurried to leave with his friend who claimed they would just return to their hotel.

The hot-headed tourist, who was shirtless, was seen knocking off an onlooker's phone who tried to film him as they left. The shocked local picked up his phone while the foreigner's friend dragged him away.

It was unclear why the tourist refused to report the incident despite being injured. Investigations on the incident are ongoing, police said.

Despite suffering a major economic downturn due to the pandemic, Thailand's tourism industry apparently showed signs of recovery as it opened its doors to foreign visitors.

More tourists could be seen filling bars and entertainment venues once again despite a curfew still being enforced. Experts expect the number of tourists to increase over the next years.

Pattaya, a sprawling red-light district city on the country's east coast, is best known for its prostitutes and bars that are ppopular with British and European holidaymakers.
