A furious German tourist claimed he was attacked by locals in ‘Sin City' Pattaya in Thailand.

Yurk Wendoft, 57, was bleeding on his face while speaking with police to report two men who allegedly beat him up in Bang Lamung district on June 18.

The injured foreigner claimed that two unidentified Thai men approached and punched him in the face as he was about to return to his hotel.

Police are looking for the men who reportedly fled on a black sedan with two Thai women.

Pattaya Police Station Superintendent Kulachat Kulchai said: ‘This is a disgrace to Pattaya's reputation. We have been tracking them down to find out what happened.'

Authorities have gathered evidence in the area such as CCTV recordings and interviewed eyewitnesses for their accounts of the story.

However, a local motorcycle taxi driver claimed that it was the German who started the fight.

Speaking with the police in the local language, Thanakrit Sangthian, 41, said: ‘A car pulled over in front of me and asked me to take the tourist back to his hotel. The tourist apparently did not want to and tried punching the driver but missed.

'The driver and another man came down from the car and beat him up until he fell on the ground. They left after that.'

Police are now tracking down where the car went to identify its owner. Investigations on the incident are ongoing.

Pattaya is a city on the east coast of Thailand best know for its round-the-clock nightlife and bustling sex industry home to tens of thousands of cheap prostitutes, which have led to it being called a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah or Sin City.

It attracts millions of tourists each year as well as Brits and Europeans looking to retire there.
