Work to remove the three masts from the UK's 'most dangerous' shipwreck in the Thames, UK has been delayed according to a report published by iNews yesterday (June 25).

SS Richard Montgomery sank in the Thames Estuary 1.5 miles north off Sheerness, Kent in August 1944.

The doomed WW2 American Liberty cargo ship went down with an estimated 1400 tonnes of explosives still onboard.

The UK Gov originally planned to remove the ship's three masts starting in June this year - but apart from some preparatory work this Summer - the main operation to remove the masts is now expected to take place next Spring, in order to allow more time to plan and prepare for the complex operation.

Footage filmed on 30 May using a 360-degree camera shows the site of the shipwreck, which is surrounded by a ring of warning buoys that all vessels must keep outside of.
