Vehicles were stranded in deep floodwater brought by a heavy rainstorm in eastern China.

Video filmed in the city of Qingdao in Shandong Province on June 26 shows vehicles becoming stuck in deep floodwater and a person trying to climb out of a submerged car.

Residents were also seen swimming and walking in the deep floodwater caused by heavy rain.

Another clip shows passengers sitting in a flooded bus waiting to be rescued.

The local meteorological observatory upgraded the orange warning signal (the second strongest level) to the red warning signal (the strongest level) for the rainstorm.

6月26日17时45分，青岛市气象台将暴雨橙色预警信号升级为暴雨红色预警信号：青岛市平度、胶州、即墨、城阳部分地区已出现100毫米以上的降水。
暴雨发生后，青岛市即墨区、李沧区、城阳区等多地发生路面积水情况。由于路面积水严重，大量汽车漂在水中，交通一度瘫痪。有市民弃车而逃，还有市民意图从积水中挽救被淹车辆。还有公交车抛锚被淹，乘客站在座椅上等待救援。（视频由山东台提供）
