Frightened sanitation worker flees as manhole explodes in China
A frightened sanitation worker fled as a manhole exploded just in front of her in northern China.
Video filmed in the city of Xingtai in Hebei Province on June 26 shows a manhole suddenly exploding with a huge fireball bursting out of it.
Another nearby manhole then exploded, sending the cover into the air.
A sanitation worker riding a three-wheeler got scared as the explosion happened in front of them. They then abandoned the three-wheeler and ran away.
Since no one was walking past the area when the incident happened, no casualties were reported.
According to preliminary judgment, the incident may have been caused by the high temperature that ignited the methane in the sewer.
The case is in further investigation.
