'Dead body' drifting in canal turns out to be an old man meditating
A ‘dead body' drifting in a canal turned out to be an old man meditating in Thailand.
The body sparked panic among locals after they saw it floating in the dirty water among garbage in the Thai capital city of Bangkok, on June 20.
However, when one of them climbed down to check, the body moved and talked, confusing the locals more.
The old man then said ‘he was only meditating' while officials did a health check up on him and sent him home.
Rescuer Sommatr Promvog said: ‘We thought he was already dead! Everyone was shouting but he was not moving.
‘When someone tried to pull him out of the water, he suddenly talked. He said he was only meditating.'
The volunteers did a health check on him and found that he was generally healthy before taking him home.
