Cycling vigilante Mike van Erp was confronted by a shirtless driver after the biker caught a couple of motorists using their phones at the wheel in London.

Footage captured on June 21 shows van Erp catching the driver of a black Mercedes using his phone whilst at the wheel near Hyde Park's Victoria Gate.

"You can't be using your phone mate," the cyclist states to the motorist.

Van Erp is then confronted by the topless driver of the Range Rover behind.

"How do you like to be on camera now Mikey?" he says to the cyclist whilst filming with a phone in his hand.

After a foul-mouthed tirade aimed at van Erp, the topless motorist then hits the cyclist's helmet camera before heading back to his car.

The filmer then moved along the traffic jam and spotted a van driver using his phone at the wheel.

Van Erp wrote online: "I caught nine drivers before this on this day, and a further seven afterwards, including one a couple more cars in front and moments after this.

"Did you think you were going to intimidate me into stopping? LOL. Reactions like yours are a sign of success - they tell me that the idea of members of the public filming and reporting drivers for breaking the law has gained real traction in your mind.

"So much so that, in my opinion, you're afraid of being caught, and you're angry about it. Threatening me only sustains my determination."
