Resistance fighters destroyed shipments of beer reportedly owned by the Burmese military in Myanmar.

The People's Liberation Army found 12 trucks delivering cases of Dagon Beer - said to be a product of Myanmar's military council - to the Pekhon Township of Shan State on June 21 afternoon.

The alcoholic beverages were discovered at a checkpoint on the Pekhon-Loikaw road and were destroyed on the spot.

Footage shows the resistance members hauling boxes onto the road, which was drenched after they had smashed dozens of beer cans.

The struggle between armed militias and the Burmese military has intensified amid the political turmoil in Myanmar caused by the ousting of well-liked former leader Aung San Suu Kyi in February 2021. The Nobel Peace Prize laureate has been held under house arrest and in jail ever since.

Around the country, thousands of civilians are said to have been murdered during military crackdowns on protests.
