Kind residents help carry neighbour's house across rice field in the Philippines
This is the heartwarming moment kind residents helped to carry their neighbour's house across a rice field in the Philippines
Footage shows more than 15 men propping up the wooden home on their shoulders to take it to another location in Occidental Mindoro, on June 12.
The kind neighbours would walk for at least 10ft before stopping to put the heavy structure down and rest.
They reached the house's new address after almost an hour carrying it across a distance of 250 metres.
House owner Joan Cordero said: ‘We have a new patch of land so we wanted to move our home instead of building a new one.
‘Our neighbours who we working with on the fields that day volunteered to help. We were so thankful for them.'
Bayanihan is a rare but enduring tradition mostly in the rural Philippines, where a family asks for help from neighbours when they want to move their home into another location.
Houses are usually made from light materials like coconut lumber but would still require at least 15 men to carry.
