The Primary elections to elect Democratic and Republican Party nominees for Governors , Lieutenant Governors and some for the Assembly. The state actual Governor is running for her first time as Democratic candidates while Andrew Giuliani, son of Rudy Giuliani, ex Mayor of New York City is running for the Republican Governor’s seat. Only registered Democratic and Republican voters are allowed to vote in this election. Less than 90,000 New Yorkers voted in the early voting which started on June 18 till June 26. There would be another party’s contests for New York on August 23 to choose nominees for congressional and state Senate district seats.
