A brave officer saves a 54-year-old man who got trapped in a swamp in India's State of Uttar Pradesh.

The footage, which was filmed on July 1, shows the officer, named Constable Sandesh Kuman, making his way into the swamp with the help of long ropes. He takes the old man's hand and drags him to safety.

Getting out of the swamp by himself would have been impossible. The man tried to do it several times but could not succeded. Luckily, locals heard his cries and and informed the local police.

People who witness the rescue operation tell the man to hold tight to the officer's hand while other members of the police team pull the rope.

The man was finally brought to safety but reported head injuries. He was taken to the Community Health Center and was later referred to the Agra District Hospital.

The rescue team involved were SHO Sher Singh, Sub-Inspector Mithun Singh, Constable Sandesh Kumar, and Head Constable Driver Vijay Pal Singh.

The clip was filmed near Barhan Junction railway station, Etmadpur road in front of the National Inter College in the city of Agra.

A brave cop was seen saving an elderly man who was trapped in a swamp in northern India's Uttar Pradesh.

Visuals showed a cop descending into the swamp with the help of ropes. Another man was seen moving in the opposite direction to the cop. The policeman held the elderly man's hand and started pulling him towards the safe side. Everyone around started instructing the old man to hold the cop's hand.

The other cops standing on the spot were constantly pulling the rope attached to the policeman saving the old man. They finally succeeded in saving the elderly man who had several injuries on his head.

Speaking to Newslions, Station House Officer Sher Singh informed that Constable Sandesh Kumar showed his courage by descending into the swamp with the help of ropes and rescuing the old man trapped in it.

The passerby, aged 54, got stuck in the swamp and tried to get out for a long time, but could not succeed. During this attempt, he got stuck in the swamp.

Locals informed that by the time people heard his voice, he was in a very critical position and was stuck deep in the swamp. After hearing the sound, a crowd of passersby gathered on the spot, but no one was able to muster the courage to enter the bog.

During this, people informed the police, who reached the spot and put their lives on the line to save the old man. The police pulled the victim out with the help of ropes. After this, the man was taken to the Community Health Center. He was referred to the Agra District Hospital later.
