This is the terrifying moment a flash flood ripped through a house in the Philippines.

Footage shows the muddy deluge from the mountain behind the property gushing through the empty house in Davao city, during a monsoon storm on May 27.

Frantic neighbours rushed to open the empty house's gate before water flowed out and filled the street.

Some of the furniture was swept out of the property but no one was reported hurt in the incident.

Villager Wilma Sagune said: 'The water came from the mountain. We heard a loud rumble before that. Our neighbours had to open the gate because the water can't flow.'

The Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November.
