Norwegian tourist, 54, rushed to hospital after allegedly stabbing himself in hotel suite in Thailand
A Norwegian tourist was rushed to the hospital after allegedly stabbing himself in his hotel room in Thailand.
Frank Gjesvold, Norwegian, 54, from Oslo was discovered by hotel staff who heard him screaming from his room in Pattaya city, Chonburi province on June 29 evening.
The bleeding tourist was found on the floor and given first aid by rescuers before being rushed to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital where he has been recovering.
No traces of struggle were found in the room while his blood had splattered all over. A packet of marijuana found on the scene was kept as evidence.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Yuttana Leungsakul said: 'No signs of violence were found inside the room. We are now uncovering whether he stabbed himself and his possible reasons.'
A hotel worker said that the Norwegian tourist had been staying on the same fourth floor suite for the last six months.
He said: ‘I heard the screaming from Frank's room on the fourth floor so the I decided to open his room using a spare key.
‘I saw blood stains upon opening the door so I called the police to report the case.'
Investigation on the incident are ongoing while the tourist remained at the hospital.
