A Malaysian woman received a huge birthday cake made from rolled-up bank notes.

Vivian Tong was celebrating her 26th birthday when she received the lavish surprise gift from her elder sister at a party in Kuala Lumpur on June 19.

Restaurant staff told Vivian that they were bringing a cake for her to blow out the candles - then entered the hall carrying a 5ft-tall cake made from real cash.

Footage shows the extravagant cake made from seven tiers of rolled-up money - all crisp notes fresh from the bank.

The lucky birthday celebrant said: ‘When I received the money cake, I was amazed and delighted. When I went back home, I had to take it apart one by one.'

After the party, family members helped carefully remove the bills from the structure. The bills had a total of 52,000 MYR (9,833 GBP).

Vivian added that her younger sister Coco who owns a Malaysian health and beauty product line gave her the unique gift.

Super generous sister Coco said: ‘Vivian is my only sister so I should give her the best. We sometimes fight like all sisters do but we love each other very much.'

The money was taken to the bank after all the notes had been removed from the cake a week later.

Vivian said she will treat her sister to a fancy meal and they will have a shopping spree together.
