An adorable video has emerged of a young boy trying to phone his grandma using a sausage in Portsmouth, UK.

The footage, shot last week by his mother, shows three-year-old Percy shouting "hello" in an attempt to speak to his grandmother while holding his hand to his ear.

Moments later his mum asks to see the phone and Percy reveal's that he's clutching a sausage - much to her amusement.

"He uses lots of different objects as phones, give him a real phone where someone actually talks back to him and he doesn't want to talk half the time though!", Percy's mother later wrote online.

"He ate the sausage just after so I think he realised".
