Police seized a whopping 50kg of ketamine hidden inside vacuum sealers in Thailand.

Officers inspected a shipment bound to Taiwan at Bangkok Port when they saw its unusual x-ray scans on June 29.

They asked the boxes to be opened and carefully saw the illegal drugs estimated to have a sale value of 175 million baht (4,040 GBP) hidden inside the packages.

Bizarrely, the shipment's sender and receiver were blank according to the documents. Officers are now hunting the sender while coordinating with Taiwanese officers to identify the receiver of the contraband.

Customs Department Director-General Phachara Anantasilp said at a press conference on July 5: ‘We inspected the shipment that is identified as high-risk smuggling goods. Through the x-ray images, we found that something was not right so we checked them further.'

Since October last year, the department has conducted 93 drug busts in ports across Thailand, seizing drugs worth more than 2 billion baht (46.1 million GBP).
