A 200ft-high bonfire has been built in the Craigyhill area of Larne, Northern Ireland.

It has been deemed the tallest bonfire in Northern Ireland by its builders and is set to break records due to its large size.

The fire is being dedicated to John Steele, who fell to his death during construction of another bonfire nearby, on Saturday.

Bonfires are traditionally burnt around July 12 in Northern Ireland to celebrate Protestant King William defeating Catholic king James in 1690 during the Battle of the Boyne, in which beacons were lit around the country to guide troops at the time.
