Raja, the world's oldest Royal Bengal Tiger aged 25 years and 10 months, died in eastern India's West Bengal.

The incident happened at the Jaldapara National Park in the Alipurduar district on July 11.

Visuals showed the dead tiger's carcass on a stretcher. Few men standing around the body put flower rings on it to show their respect to the departed soul.

The animal reportedly had lost a limb after an attack by a crocodile back in 2008. It stayed at the Royal Bengal Tiger Rehabilitation Center in South Khairbari, Jaldapara Forest Department since then, walking on a prosthetic limb.

The cause of its death is said to be age-related illnesses. Raja's 25th birthday was celebrated last year by the forest department, on August 23.
