Mysterious fireball flies across sky in northwestern China
A mysterious fireball flew across sky in northwestern China.
Mobile phone footage of CCTV filmed in the city of Pingliang in Gansu Province on July 10 shows a ball of fire falling from the sky.
An employee of the local emergency management bureau said the location of where the fireball landed was unknown. No serious incident was reported and the case was being investigated.
Baolin Zhang, a meteorite specialist at the Beijing Planetarium, told Gansu Television, said: "The fireball might be a bolide. But it is hard to find where did it fall."
The video was provided by local media with permission.
