This is the terrifying moment a school bus crashed after being forced off the road, injuring 52 passengers in Thailand.

The shuttle was part of a convoy taking some 250 students to watch a film screening of 'Jurassic World' in a mall in Chumphon province on July 7.

However, while heading back to the Ban Had Nai school from the cinema, driver Sanae Phimonrat tried to steer clear of another bus travelling along the narrow road. In doing so, the vehicle's front wheel fell down a roadside ledge, causing the shuttle to lose balance.

It then hit an electric pole and landed on its side in a grassy ditch by the road.

Thasae district police officers rushed to the scene to rescue the crash victims. They said 52 people - including students and teachers - were injured, but no one was seriously hurt. The wounded, some of whom were in a state of shock, were taken to nearby hospitals.

The Ministry of Education said the school has accident insurance to cover for medical expenses.

Meanwhile, the police have taken photos of the scene and said they will be interviewing the injured to aid the investigation.
