Firefighters make a tool from a rope and a stick of wood to rescue a dog that fell into hole in Indonesia.

Footage filmed in Agam regency, West Sumatra province on July 12, shows a dog's body partially submerged in water at the bottom of a hole.

Piliang Riri, a resident who asked officers for help, said the stray dog fell into the pit after fighting with another dog an hour earlier. "It fell into a hole and the other one is out of nowhere," Riri said.

Officers lowered sticks of wood and knotted ropes to lift the dog.

Bung Darman, Agam Firefighters officer, said the hole was more than 8 meters deep. "After three attempts, the poor dog was finally rescued an hour later," Darman added.

Residents were happy to see the dog was rescued and let it go free.
